It's hard to believe this Sunday will be Easter. Time flies when you're having fun, or trying to recover from and forget a global pandemic. This time last year the lock-downs started and everyone, or at least most people, were self-quarantining. It brought the holiday and our annual Easter plans and family get togethers to a screeching halt. For the most part this year is a lot better, actually it's much better when compared to last year. The threat of COVID-19 has lessened some and we're finally starting to see a return to normalcy.

I don't know about you, but last year's Easter was pitiful at my house. It was strange that the entire family was missing and even our selection of Easter treats was scarce. Most of the stores were under stocked and you could find your usual Easter holiday favorites due to the pandemic and shut-downs. So this year we're making up for it and going all out! Luckily most stores are fully stocked on Easter candy and chocolates. I mean can you really even call it Easter without a chocolate bunny or two? Or Peeps and jelly beans.

A new survey was done by Zippia.com that lists the most popular Easter candy or treat in each state. What's surprising is the most popular of all with around 14 states listing it as their all time favorite, hard boiled eggs! Now don't get me wrong I love hard boiled eggs, especially Deviled Eggs, but out of all the Easter treats and candies I don't think it would rank in the top 5 for me. Coming in at number 2 is jelly beans, at least that one makes sense. The third most popular Easter treat or candy is Peeps then the chocolate bunny in fourth.

In Oklahoma Peeps are the most popular Easter candy or treat. I've never been a fan of Peeps, even with all the new crazy flavors that are out now. Even so the animal shaped, marshmallow and sugar encrusted holiday icon is the Sooner state's favorite.
