Opportunities to experience a guided tour of the new Public Safety Center, 100 South Railroad Street, will soon be available to community members through an online sign-up process: tinyurl.com/lawtonpsctour.

Due to COVID, the tours will be offered on a limited basis following a closed ribbon-cutting ceremony on March 16, 2021. The tours and event will be weather-dependent.

"Though this event may look a little different than previous ribbon-cutting ceremonies, we are still very excited to debut this building to the community and give so many of our hardworking public safety officials a new, beautiful home," said City Manager Michael Cleghorn.

The City of Lawton expects to receive keys to the building by the end of February; staff is expected to begin moving in following the ribbon-cutting ceremony. The facility will house Municipal Court, the Police Department, City Jail and firefighting crews of Lawton Fire Department Station 1.

The move-in process is expected to take several weeks. The facility comes at a construction cost of approximately $34 million and is funded by the voter-approved 2015 Sales Tax Extension; the three-level building is 106,778 sq. ft.

Additional opportunities to tour and view the building will be scheduled once staff members are moved into the facility in months to come. A virtual tour of the building is also expected to be produced for the community during that time.
