Pop sensation Shawn Mendes and Zac Brown Band recently joined forces for an episode of CMT Crossroads, which they taped at the Factory in Franklin, Tenn. in September. Their marriage of pop and country shone particularly brightly on a version of ZBB's 2010 single "Keep Me in Mind," which fans can watch above.

Mendes, who is a young (20 years old) solo artist, showed pure confidence performing with the ZBB's full band; while Brown displayed how well his smooth vocals blend with the Top 40 hitmaker's unique delivery. The song, although close to a decade old, sounded remarkably fresh as shared by the two vocalists.

The pairing had both artists trading off on their respective hits; fans can see the entire performance when it airs on Oct. 24.

The taping of the show was held prior to frontman Brown's recent announcement that he and his wife of 12 years are separating. The couple have five kids together, ranging in age from four to 11. In a joint statement to People they admit it was a difficult decision, but cited going in "different directions" as the cause for their split.
