When Eric Church is onstage, he feels pretty cool performing to thousands of fans screaming his name. When he’s offstage, it’s someone else screaming his name — and that’s the best thing in the world. Sure, Church has the look, the voice and the fans, but he’s also got one fairly new responsibility: being a dad to almost 5-month-old Boone McCoy.
Everyone’s been talking about ‘The Hunger Games’ for months, and now fans everywhere are just days away from the premiere of the post-apocalyptic film based on Suzanne Collins’ bestselling book. Even so, those who absolutely can’t wait until Friday can hold themselves over with the film’s soundtrack, which drops today (March 20). Featuring artists like Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert and the Civil Wars, the soundtrack is a star-studded musical endeavor with a country tinge, set to perfectly fit the film.
While we often check out our friends’ Spotify playlists to see what they’re spinning and who they’re into at any given moment, we don’t really think to check the playlist posted by, say, a national politician. Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney is doing a good bit of traveling of late, and the former Massachusetts governor recently tweeted about what he’s been listening to during his cross-country road trips.
Season 8 of ‘The Bachelorette’ will premiere on ABC Monday, May 14. And while that’s still a couple months away, the filming for the dating show is already well underway. In addition to new bachelorette Emily Maynard, the country group Gloriana will also be making an appearance on the upcoming show.
Saturday night (March 17) Miranda Lambert and her touring crew hit Broomfield, Colo.’s 1st Bank Event Center. During her show, Lambert invited another powerful female vocalist — and fellow ‘The Voice‘ mentor — to take the stage with her. Surprising the audience, Kelly Clarkson emerged and offered up her recent single ‘Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)’ from her fifth studio album, 2011′s ‘Stronger,’ as well as Lambert’s own ‘Gunpowder and Lead’ with the help of the blonde country starlet herself.
While the members of Zac Brown Band have tasted commercial success in the past few years, they’ve also each experienced something else entirely new: parenthood. Perhaps this is partially what drew the band’s guitarist Coy Bowles to pen his first children’s book, “Amy Giggles: Laugh Out Loud.” Speaking on HLN yesterday morning (March 16), Bowles elaborated on the origins of the anti-bullying book, as well as his hopes for its future.
Randy Houser‘s wife Jessa Lee Yantz hit Twitter to share an adorable picture of the couple’s new baby boy. “Hello y’all, my name is West Yantz Houser!” the tweet reads. “I’m always smilin, just like my daddy @RandyHouser.”
Prom season is quickly approaching, and you know what that means. Grab your favorite country star and get him to help you snag a date for the dance! Well, it worked for one Owensboro Ky. teen and Jake Owen.
Tim McGraw and Faith Hill kicked off their joint Australian tour this week, and tonight they’re giving a performance at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre. While the two country celebs will do their fair share of getting ready for the event, they’re not neglecting their other full-time jobs either: being parents to daughters Gracie, Maggie and Audrey.
Australia’s Country Music Channel just announced their CMC Awards for the year, and Aussie country star Keith Urban took home the award in two categories. After bagging the awards for Video of the Year for his crossover hit ‘Without You’ and International Artist of the Year, Urban tweeted early this morning (March 16), “SO thrilled to win Video of the Year and International Artist of the Year at the @CMC_Australia Awards!!!!!!! THANK U for voting!!!!!!!!”
Each week, the CMT show ‘CMT Top 20 Countdown‘ counts down the week’s Top 20 country music videos, interviewing artists in between and focusing on the best in current country. This week, Miranda Lambert‘s new video for her emotional single ‘Over You’ debuted on the show, and it broke a record by starting out at No.3 — the highest ranked video debut in the history of the program.
