‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ to Appear in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Because Vin Diesel Says So
We have another update on Vin Diesel courtesy of Vin Diesel, your source for all the latest Vin Diesel news. No, it’s not more Fast 8 drama (#candyassgate was tragically short-lived), but it does involve another major franchise. According to Diesel, Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord won’t be the only Guardian of the Galaxy to appear in Avengers: Infinity War, as the actor claims that the whole team will be joining their occasionally fearless leader for the upcoming MCU event.
More ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ Characters May Have Been Revealed
Take this with a grain of salt, etc., etc., but a very interesting image popped up online this afternoon which seems to feature a call sheet for Spider-Man: Homecoming. In addition to listing a few characters we already knew about, the rundown apparently reveals some that haven’t been reported, including a potential third villain. Possible spoilers ahead!
Joe Russo Explains ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Title Changes
It wasn’t exactly surprising when Disney and Marvel officially confirmed that Avengers: Infinity War – Part 1 had dropped the ‘Part 1’ from its title — back in May, director Joe Russo said that both parts would soon be renamed. Not long after, we learned that the first film is now simply titled Avengers: Infinity War, while the sequel’s new title has yet to be revealed. According to the Russo brothers, it may still be quite a while before we learn what’s up with that fourth Avengers movie.
‘Rogue One’ Gives Ben Mendelsohn’s Villain the Empire Cover He Deserves
As promised, Empire has revealed an alternate cover for their upcoming October issue, which includes a big feature story on Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. This one puts Ben Mendelsohn’s villain front and center, flanked by a pair of menacing Death Troopers — that name alone is way cooler and more intimidating than the Empire’s usual Stormtroopers, and that’s before we even get to those sleek, black suits.
Ben Affleck Will Find Time to Direct and Star in ‘Witness For the Prosecution’
The DCEU has been keeping Ben Affleck pretty busy with Justice League and plans for a new solo Batman film, which the actor will also co-write and direct. Those commitments are partially responsible for the repeated delays on his Dennis Lehane adaptation, Live by Night, which may or may not hit theaters before the end of the year. Despite his increasingly crowded schedule, Affleck has picked up another project to direct and star in, but who knows when he’ll have the time to actually make it happen.
‘The Dark Tower’ Teaser Photo Opens the Door to Mid-World
Earlier this week it was revealed that the first footage from The Dark Tower will debut in October during Entertainment Weekly’s Popfest. Until then, Stephen King and the cast of the long-awaited adaptation have been releasing intriguing teaser photos on social media — like the latest image, which features young protagonist Jake Chambers and a quote that fans will immediately recognize.
‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ Star Tom Holland Visits Children’s Hospital in His Spidey Suit
You deserve something heartwarming after a long week, and Tom Holland has just the thing. The Marvel newcomer and star of Spider-Man: Homecoming donned his Spidey suit to pay a visit to some special friends at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston, and the photos will most definitely put a smile on your face.
Marvel Reveals More Mind-Bending ‘Doctor Strange’ Photos
Following yesterday’s reveal of two images from Doctor Strange, Marvel has revealed even more new photos from the Sorcerer Supreme’s upcoming solo film. And while the gallery above features several stills of Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange, you’ll also find some new sneak peeks at Chiwetel Ejiofor’s Baron Mordo and Mads Mikkelsen’s villainous Kaecilius, as well as our first good look at Benedict Wong as Wong. Oh, and there’s plenty of those mind-bending, Inception-style landscape shots, too.
Natalie Portman Says She’s ‘Done’ With Marvel
It’s been well-known for quite a while that Natalie Portman isn’t appearing in Thor: Ragnarok, which takes place largely on Asgard and throughout its other spacey realms, with very few scenes set on Earth. If you were hoping that Jane Foster might return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe sometime soon, however, then you might want to take this news whilst sitting down.
John Turturro Is Reportedly Filming a Secret ‘Big Lebowski’ Spinoff
In news that might make you go “Uhh…,” John Turturro is reportedly filming a secret spinoff to The Big Lebowski. Turturro is said to be shooting the new film, which is based on his salacious Jesus Quintana character from the Coens’ cult classic, under a misleading production title in New York. The only thing more surprising than this movie is its bizarre plot.
Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly Reunite as ‘Holmes and Watson’
No, it’s not a sequel to Step Brothers (but do we really need one, anyway?), but professional funny people Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly are reuniting for another new movie, which is still pretty great news. The actors are teaming up for Holmes and Watson, in which they’ll work their hilariously juvenile magic on the iconic literary duo of Sherlock Holmes and his pal, good ol’ Watson.
Batman Voice Actor Kevin Conroy Has a Complaint About ‘Batman v Superman’
It’s been non-stop Suicide Squad coverage since David Ayer’s DC villain team-up hit theaters last week, but if you’re looking for a superhero intermission, Kevin Conroy is at your service. The veteran Batman voice actor would like to take you back a few months to WB’s previous DCEU installment, and share his thoughts on Zack Snyder’s hero-vs-hero epic. Spoiler: They’re not entirely positive thoughts.
