On Unsigned/Indy Artist Thursday this week our focus is on a singer and songwriter from Kirksey, Kentucky, a small town in the extreme southwest of the state, about an hour south of Paducah. Our artist began singing and playing the piano around the age of 8, playing first in church and then quickly progressing to local talent shows and contests.

Arista Manning discovered her passion for music at an early age, a love that grew stronger as she began competing in local talent shows and other events as she got older. By the age of 18, Arista began recording demos of her music and shopping them around Nashville. She began attending Murray State University, a state college 2 hours from Nashville, a trip she began making on a regular basis.

During her sophomore year in college, Manning began laying the groundwork for what would become her introduction to the Nashville music community. While juggling a Public Relations major and a Journalism minor, she used her trips to Nashville to

begin working on her debut. Two years later, that project, titled Ride This Night, was released on September 7th of this year. The lead single from the EP is in our spotlight today.
