Today we feature an artist who was born and raised in the country music hotbed of Springfield, MA, and who was discovered and made her chart debut at age 11.

In 2002, Ashley Gearing  was featured on the Disney compilation album Disneymania2, singing "When You Wish Upon A Star". The next year, Gearing broke a long standing record held by Brenda Lee, when her debut single, "Can You Hear Me When I Talk To You" landed on the country charts, making her the youngest artist ever to chart, at just the age of 11. She released a second single, "Ribbons of Love" on Lyric Street Records, without releasing an album.

Finally in 2006, the independent label Squeeze Records released her debut album, Maybe It's Time; the album featured the single "I Found It In You". Curb Records was encouraged by the single, signed Gearing in 2007, releasing the single "Out The Window" in 2008, and the follow up "What You Think About Us" in 2010. 2011 saw the release of 2 singles, "Five More Minutes" and "Me, My Heart and I". And in 2014, Gearing released "Boomerang"; none of the singles cracked the top-50.

Gearing recently released a 7-song, self titled EP. She was in the studio with us to talk about the lead single from the EP, which is today's Catch of the Day. Ashley Gearing and "Train Track" is new music you haven't heard, but you'll want to hear it again.
