Its Thursday, and in the tradition of Catch of the Day, it's Unsigned Thursday, featuring a young artist you haven't heard of, but I think you need to know about.

Our featured artist today who started singing at age 3, standing in front of the TV with a green, plastic guitar, ricking along with Alan Jackson's "Chasin' That Neon Rainbow." 20 years later, Blane Howard is still chasin' that rainbow, but now its to his own tune.

Growing up in Southern Arkansas, Blane was influenced by country stars such as Jackson, Garth Brooks and Vince Gill, along with southern rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd. Adding the influence of current country stars like Blake Shelton and Chris Young, Howard brings a 90's feel to modern country to today's edgy sound.

Blane studied music at Nashville's prestigious Belmont University, landing a spot in the Mike Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business, a program that also claims Brad Paisley and Trisha Yearwood amongst its alumni. Howard has opened for acts like Joe Nichols, Blake Shelton, Trace Adkins and Travis Tritt.
