The word for the day today is "capitalize", defined as the act or ability to act on a situation for a beneficial outcome.

Today our focus is on an artist who is definitely in the best position of his career, and is ready to "capitalize" on his three time win at last week's CMA awards. Before last Wednesday, Chris Stapleton was well known in the country music family as an incredible songwriter. It was last year's CMT Artist of the Year show that Singleton was able to "capitalize" on a situation that forced him into the spotlight to perform Luke Bryan's "Drink A Beer" with Lady Antebellum, a song that Stapleton wrote. Stapleton had previously played guitar and sang back-up on Bryan's performance of the song at the 2013 CMA awards.

Chris Stapleton has wrote #1 singles for Bryan, Kenny Chesney ("Never Wanted Nothing More"), George Strait ("Love's Gonna Make It Alright"), Darius Rucker ("Come Back Song"), Thomas Rhett ("Crash and Burn") and Josh Turner ("Your Man"), and received the ASCAP award for most performed country song of the year for 5 years in a row from 2008 to 2012.

Born and raised on Kentucky, Stapleton has spent 15 years in Nashville, writing songs and singing back-ground vocals from artists of all genres, including Adele, Chris DuBois, George Strait, Alison Krauss and others. His songs have been nominated for 3 Grammy Award, and Stapleton has recorded with artists ranging from Adele to Miranda Lambert to Don Williams.

With the release of his first solo album, Traveller, Stapleton stepped to the forefront as a performer, with the first single from the album, the title track, climbing to number 23. The album, which sold over 100,000 copies this week, garnered Stapleton CMA awards for Best New Artist, Best Album and Male Vocalist of the Year.

Hoping to capitalize on the success of the CMA awards, the second single from Traveler is in our spotlight today. Chris Stapleton and "Nobody To Blame" is today's Catch of the Day, new music you haven't heard, but you'll want to hear it again.
