It's Thursday, and today we expand our normal pattern, by not only bringing you music by one of the best unsigned and indy label artists that Nashville has to offer, but today, we get to know the artist a little better, by having a sit-down in the KLAW101 studio.

Singer, songwriter and recording artist Jamie Stever is definitely making a mark on today's country music scene. Originally from a small town in Ontario, Canada but is now based in Nashville, Jamie works alongside some of the top hit makers and artists in the country. From commercial sounding uptempo hits to heartfelt ballads Jamie has proven to deliver an engaging performance every time. Recently performing live on WSM 650 Radio (official radio station for The Grand Ole Opry), as well as The Station Inn in Nashville has launched Jamie to a new level in his career.

Stever became interested in music at the age of fourteen when his older brother brought a guitar into the house he had borrowed from a friend. It wasn’t long before Jamie got his hands on it and knew that music was what he was meant to do. Jamie studied Classical music performance at Cambrian college in Sudbury, Ontario but has moved back to the his roots of country music! “From Mozart to Merle” Stever has run the gammut of music. Recently, Stever teamed with MADD Canada (Mother’s Against Drunk Driving) and continues to support this cause with his music. Stever's debut LP, Pretty Good Start, released in 2013, featured the top-50, sun soaked anthem, “Sweet Sweet Summertime”, which was featured on CBC.ca with the headline “Jamie Stever, Alan Jackson, Kid Rock; country songs that celebrate summer”.

Jamie just released his second project, the first in the U.S., a new EP entitled This Life Ain’t For Everyone. The lead single and title track from the EP, which Jamie recently stopped by our studios to talk about, is in our spotlight today. Jamie Stever and "This Life Ain't For Everyone" is our Unsigned/Indy Artist Thursday Catch of the Day, new music you haven't heard, but you'll want to hear it again.
