Today we take a look at one of the most anticipated new singles of the 2016 summer, the pairing of a country superstar and a R & B/rock diva. He is poet and a pirate and she is the colorful voice that comes along once in a generation, a combination of unique styles, that much like key lime pie and strawberries, you would think shouldn't go together, but once you try it, it leaves you wanting more.

Kenny Chesney and Alicia Beth Moore, better known as Pink, are the latest pairing of country superstar and pop diva, and not even the first for Chesney. He has twice hit the top of the country charts when paired with rocker Grace Potter, first in 2011 on "You and Tequila" and again in 2015 with "Wild Child". Of course the Tennessee native and Boston Red Sox fan has done quite well on his own, with 10 of his 14 studio album hitting #1 on the country album chart, with 2 gold and 11 platinum albums amongst them. He has also seen three greatest hits compilations hit the top of the charts, all three reaching platinum certification. These albums have produced 52 top-10 singles, including 26 which have hit #1.

Pink first came to the music fans' attention as the lead singer for the R & B group Choice, but went solo in 2000 with her debut album Can't Take Me Home. The album achieved double platinum certification buoyed by the top-10 pop hits "There You Go" and "Most Girls". She received her first Grammy Award in 2001, for her work with  Christina Aguilera, Lil' Kim and Mya on the single "Lady Marmalade" from the soundtrack of the movie Moulin Rouge!

Pink has released six solo studio album and one greatest hits package, all of which have not only gone platinum in the U.S., but also in a minimum of 5 countries across the world. She has charted 17 top-10 hits on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart, 4 of which have landed at #1. Add to that the collaborative #1 "Lady Marmalade", it makes for great success for the daughter of a nurse and an insurance salesman from Doyleston, PA.

Chesney and Pink have come together for the lead single from Chesney's forthcoming album Cosmic Hallelujah, scheduled for release on October 28th. Kenny Chesney and Pink with "Setting The World On Fire" is today's Catch of the Day, new music you haven't heard, but you'll want to hear it again.
