Today we take a look and listen to an artist who is no stranger to reality TV fans, having appeared on the series Bringing Up Bates for four years along with his parents and his 18 siblings. An artist who aims to bring faith and values to country music.

Lawson Bates has a big family. I mean a REEEEALLY big family. Lawson grew up with 18 brothers and sisters in the Tennessee Hills. Christian family values and faith were strong in the Bates family, highlighted on the family's own reality TV series, first called United Bates of America, then becoming Bringing up Bates, on United Paramount (UP). The series has aired on UP-TV from 2012 to season 6, which just debuted in June. The show follows the daily lives of the family, parents Gil and Kelly and their 9 sons and 10 daughters, as well as the Bates'

In 2011, then 18 year old Lawson began working with Nashville producer Andy Leftwich on his debut album. The album, Freedom Sure Ain't Free, featured a traditional spin on country music, supported by Lawton's faith and family values, and was led by the single "I Thought I Had Problems" in 2015, the proceeds from the single were donated to Hurricane Relied efforts. The project's second single, "I Will Always" made an impact on the iTunes Country chart, peaking at #46.

In 2016, Larson found himself splitting time between the show and the recording studio while working on his follow-up album. Late in the year, Bates released What Country Means To Me, his first entirely 'country' album. The music from the album reflects Bates' family values and Christian upbringing, staying traditional while managing to avoid the classic country traps of drinkin',
