Today we feature a sound of the holiday season as our featured song. A new classic from the movie Frozen, covered by one of the great young voices in country music today.

Born in Arlington, and raised throughout the state of Texas, Mickey Guyton says she made the decision to pursue a singing career at age 8, when she heard Lee Ann Rimes sing the National Anthem at a Texas Rangers' game. Her family moved frequently due to his career as an Engineer, the true constant in Mickey's life was music. She signed with Capitol Records in 2011, making her first national television appearance on stage at the White House during an all-star concert that included James Taylor, Dierks Bentley, Kris Kristofferson, The Band Perry, Darius Rucker and Lyle Lovett. The show was captured by PBS and

broadcast as part of their “In Performance at the White House” series. Mickey’s riveting rendition of Patsy Cline’s classic “Crazy” was one of the highlights of the night. Capitol released Guyton's debut EP Unbreakable in 2014. No singles were released from the debut EP.

In January of 2015, Guyton became only the second African American woman to be invited to perform at the Grand Ole Opry. Two days after the appearance, she released her debut single, "Better Than You Left Me", which entered the country charts at #56 the next week. The song eventually peeked at #34; her self-titled EP featuring the single was released in May.

Our sound of the season spotlight falls today on Guyton's cover of a song that was originally recorded for the Frozen soundtrack. Originally recorded by Kristen Bell, Agatha LeeMonn and Katie Lopez, today's Catch of the Day is Mickey Guyton and "Do You Want To Build A Snowman?"; new music you haven't heard, but you'll want to hear it again.
