Today the Unsigned/Indy Artist Thursday spotlight falls on a singer and songwriter who many who know her say she was singing before she could talk and riding horses before she could walk. It only goes to show that for a long time she has been doing things on her own timeline and nobody else's.

Natalie Rose was just four years old when she first got up on a stage to sing with a band. Since then, the small Texas town work ethic she grew up with has led to hard work and long hours honing her craft. She has never believed in limitations set upon her by others, or done things according to their opinions. Whether it was hitting the stage with her band, or the rodeo circuit with her parents, she has gone after what she wanted with all of her heart.

She was all exposed to all varieties of music from an early age, taking a little something from each and bringing it together in a unique style that demands a listeners attention. Whether she is singing modern country, covering a country classic or one of her original songs, Natalie brings a passion to her music that connects with listeners of all ages. Natalie respects the heritage of country music, while striving to be a big part of its future; and that she is well on her way to being. With influences like Patsy Cline, Martina McBride and Miranda Lambert, clearly Natalie see both sides of that fence.

Her heart has room for more than just music; she comes from a large, extended family and has grown up loving animals, both domestic and wild. She strives to set a good example for younger girls, and makes many charitable appearances, supporting a variety of causes. She strives to be the "big sister" to younger girls that artists like Martina McBride were to her when she was growing up.

Natalie is a performer that has learned to play most of the instruments behind her, not to actually back her own performances, but more to get a better understanding of the process of creating the music. Once you hear Natalie Rose perform, you won't be able to forget the power of her voice, and the soul and passion she puts into her music. Today she steps into our spotlight with the first single from her debut EP Promise Me Beautiful, which was produced by Asleep At The Wheel's Ray Benson. Natalie Rose and "Better Off Without You" is our Unsigned/Indy Artist Catch of the Day, new music you haven't heard, but you're going to want to hear it again.
