Today we turn our attention to an artist who has sold over 100,000 million albums, making her the most successful female artist and the most successful Canadian born artist in Country music history. An artist who went through a tremendous upheaval in her personal life and walked away from recording for almost 15 years.

Shania Twain was the top act in country music during the late 90's and into the early part of this century. Twain sold over 100,000 million albums from 1993 to 2004, releasing only 4 titles and a greatest hits compilation; her average of more than 20,000 million per album far exceeds even Garth Brooks for the highest average sales per release. With all this going for her, it all came to a screeching halt after the release of her 2004 Greatest Hits album.

In 2008, Twain went through a very public divorce from her producer/husband "Mutt" Lange, while also suffering from vocal problems that many attributed to the stress of the ongoing divorce proceedings. She returned to the stage in 2012, beginning a show in residency at Caesar's palace in Las Vegas. In July of 2014 she would perform her first concerts in over 10 years, performing at the Calgary Stampede Rodeo in Alberta, Canada on July 9th and 10th. 2015 would see a return to touring for Twain, the Rock This Country tour her first in 11 years.

The country music world waited for new music from Shania, and in June of this year, they were rewarded when Twain released "Life's About To Get Good", her first new music since 2005. The single peaked at #26 on the Country singles chart, and served as the lead for Now, the singer's first album of new material since Up! in 2002.
