Today's 'Catch of the Day' comes to us from the best southern chef ever to sling a guitar over his shoulder and his band of merry minstrels.

In 2004, Zac Brown opened a music club and restaurant with his father in the Lake Oconee area of Georgia, called "Zac's Place" where the fare was southern-style cooking. An immediate success, the restaurant was soon sold to a developer, and, in turn, the Zac Brown Band bought a tour bus and began touring full-time, playing rock and country clubs as well as folk and jam band festivals.

The original Zac Brown Band lineup consisted of Brown on acoustic guitar and lead vocals, backed by a drummer and a bass guitarist. In 2004 Brown added violinist/fiddler and tenor vocalist Jimmy De Martini to the lineup. 2005 saw John Driskell Hopkins step in on bass guitar, while helping the group finish-up what would become the number one single "Toes."

2005 also saw the addition of guitarist and keyboardist Coy Bowles to the ZBB. In 2008, the band added drummer Chris Fryar, replacing a string of session and touring drummers they had worked with on the group's debut album The Foundation and the subsequent tour.

On April 25, 2012, it was announced via the Zac Brown Band's website that percussionist Daniel de los Reyes had joined the band on a permanent basis. De los Reyes had previously performed with the band as a touring musician and participated in the recording of their album Uncaged. In 2014, with the addition of bassist Matt Mangano to the line-up, Hopkins traded in his bass to take on the role of multi-instrumentalist, playing guitar, ukulele, stand-up bass, and banjo.

Today's Catch is the debut single and title track from the band's forthcoming CD, Homegrown. Your Catch of the Day for today is the Zac Brown Band and "Homegrown", new music you haven't heard, but you should be hearing it again...
