It's Unsigned/Indy Artist Thursday and today we turn the spotlight on a local boy from Southwest Oklahoma who grew up in a family of musicians, and who's life has revolved around music since he was old enough to speak. After a couple of years in the family business, he pulled up his roots and headed to Nashville.

Thomas Sheffield grew up in Lawton and started out singing in his family's band, graduating to local and state singing competitions while still in high school, winning several of them. After working for his father for a couple years after graduating from MacArthur high school, Thomas decided Nashville was the place for him, so he packed his bags and was off to Music City, beginning the grind every artist has to endure...trying to land a record contract. And while that contract has eluded him to this point, he has had the privilege to share the stage with some legendary artists, including Lorrie Morgan, David Frizzell, Earl Thomas Conley and many more. Recently he performed on shows with Daryl Singletary.

Thomas has been spending time in the studio recently, putting the finishing touches on a self-produced debut EP Keeping Country...Country, pressing on to further his country music dreams. Today, we have the lead single from the EP in our spotlight; Thomas Sheffield and "Girl" is our Unsigned/Indy Artist Thursday Catch of the Day, new music you haven't heard, but you're going to want to hear it again.
