It’s Unsigned/Indy Artist Thursday on the Catch of the Day, and today we feature an artist from Wichita Falls, TX, who is making a return visit to our spotlight.

Tyler Steel visited our studios right before performing at the Lawton Rangers Rodeo in August. Steel is a true native of the Lone Star State, hailing originally from Waxahachie, but now calling Wichita Falls home. Music has been a major part of his life from a very young age. At the age of 13, the aspiring singer picked up a guitar and his musical journey began.

By 2006, Tyler packed up and moved to California to get a taste of the west coast, but as time went on, home was where his heart, and his music, was. Tyler found the move home jump started his career, and shortly after he began recording in Ft. Worth. This would lead to a phone call from Gary Sadker at Nashville’s Red Ridge Entertainment. Tyler would record his first album along with an accompaning music video through Red Ridge’s Label, Magenta Records, Cupit Music and PK pictures.

In June 2014 Tyler and his band went to Ft. Worth Sound to record with award winning producer Bart Rose behind the controls. The band, which features Tyler on vocals and acoustic guitar, Dillion Pirkle on lead guitar and backing vocals, Robert Briley on bass and Steve Looney on drums, came away with their debut album, Everyone Of You. The title track and lead single was featured back in August, and today we feature the album's second single. Tyler Steel and “Drink Number 5“, is your Unsigned/Indy Artist Thursday Catch of the Day; new music you haven’t heard, but you’ll want to hear it again.
