‘Catch of the Day’ – Wade Reeves [AUDIO]

Its Unsigned/Indy Artist Thursday on the Catch of the Day and today the spotlight falls on an artist from Minden, Louisiana who I stumbled upon in my travels on Facebook.

Wade Reeves has a classic country sound that pays tribute to the artists he calls influences. With a backing band that includes members of Luke Bryan's touring band, Wade has a lot of talent behind him and a bright future ahead of him.

Growing up in Minden, just outside of Shreveport, LA, Reeves was influenced by classic country artists such as Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, George Strait and George Jones, but also taking something from more current artist such as The Randy Rodgers Band and Jamie Johnson. Classic Country, Texas Red Dirt and a little bit of swing come through in a swirl, making you think back to the days of the Highwaymen, Conway Twitty and Asleep At The Wheel.

Wade is currently on the road in support of his current album Keep On Dreaming, appearing in clubs in Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma, building his audience with each stop. Today's Catch comes from that album, available at both Amazon.com and on iTunes, which pays tribute to two of Wade's earliest influences.
