Happy 81st Birthday to the Possum, George Jones!  Jones had a string of Number One hits beginning in 1959 with 'White Lightning' and his final Number One coming in 1983 with 'I Always get Lucky with You'.  Today's KLAW Classic wasn't a Number One song, but it reached top 5, and had some controversy attached to it as well.  Nominated for Single of the Year by the CMA in 1999, Jones was asked to sing an abbreviated version of the song for that year's award show.  George declined to do so thinking that he should have been allowed to sing the entire song.  Alan Jackson, hearing of this decision by the CMA execs, was outraged.  During his performance of his current hit at that time ' Pop A Top', Jackson broke into a stanza of today's Classic 'Choices' as a tribute to George Jones.  We have both videos for you today!

Here's is the video from the 1999 CMA Award show showing Alan Jackson's defiance by singing George Jones song 'Choices' during his performance.
