Cincinnati Red thirdbaseman Todd Fraizer defeated Los Angeles Dodger rookie outfielder Joc Pedersonon on his final swing of the night to capture the 2015 Gillette Major League All-Star Home Run Derby.
Fraizer actually had to go into "bonus time" to edge Pederson 15-14 in front of his home crowd at the Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati. Fraizer got to the finals in the first year of a new "bracket" format by defeating Texas Ranger Designated Hitter Prince Fielder 14-13 in the first round, and the getting past fellow thirdbaseman Josh Donaldson 10-9 in the second round. Pederson defeated another third sacker, Baltimore Oriole Mario Machado 13-12 in the first round, then made it to the final round by upsetting top ceded Albert Pujols of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 12-11.
