’22 Jump Street’ Clips Highlight Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum’s Chemistry
We're looking forward to '22 Jump Street,' because -- though comedy sequels are a tricky business (see for instance 'Anchorman 2') -- the chemistry between Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum in the latest clips from the movie looks stronger than ever.
Also, the film is directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who not only directed the first film, but also handled this year's brilliant 'The LEGO Movie,' so we're hoping they continue their hot streak. In these clips the film plays on the established tropes of the first movie (like that these characters are about ten years too old for college), but find new ways to make them funny.
Here's the film's synopsis:
After making their way through high school (twice), big changes are in store for officers Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) when they go deep undercover at a local college. But when Jenko meets a kindred spirit on the football team, and Schmidt infiltrates the bohemian art major scene, they begin to question their partnership. Now they don’t have to just crack the case – they have to figure out if they can have a mature relationship. If these two overgrown adolescents can grow from freshmen into real men, college might be the best thing that ever happened to them.
And here's that second clip. '22 Jump Street' will be in theaters June 13.
