1990 A Night At The Opry
Garth Brooks joins the Grand Ole Opry, and Alan Jackson makes his first appearance on the show. Brooks', who was inducted by country legend Johnny Russell, had a set list for the momentous occasion which featured his #1 single at the time "Friends In Low Places" as well as "If Tomorrow Never Comes" and "The Dance".
This was Jackson's first appearance on the Opry stage, but it wasn't his first trip to the Opry however. When he first came to Nashville, "AJ" got a job with the U.S. Postal Service and part of his route include the Grand Ole Opry. Jackson would become an official member of the Opry on July 7, 1991; he was nominated by Roy Acuff and inducted by Randy Travis.

The U.S. House of Representatives unanimously passed a resolution honoring country music “for its contributions to American life and culture”.

Tim McGraw marries Faith Hill in Rayville, Louisiana, the day of his Swampstock benefit concert. In attendance are fellow artists Mark Collie, Tracy Lawrence, Mark Chesnutt and Jeff Carson
1994
Willie Nelson’s album The City Of New Orleans was certified gold. The album featured the title track, Willie's cover of the Arlo Guthrie classic as well as renditions of "Please Come to Boston" and "Wind Beneath My Wings".
