McClellan believes her ability as a community liaison was what drew her to the Red Cross position.

“I’m a lifelong learner who loves to engage with people,” MeClellan said. “I believe I bring the ability to foster relationships with people who can help move the dial for our organization.”

Most recently the director of alumni and community relations for the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, McClellan brings a varied background of strong leadership skills, strategic partner initiatives and outstanding communications skills to the position.

“Misti's wealth of experience and lifetime knowledge of the area will make her an invaluable asset to Red Cross mission,” said Alice Townsend, Regional Chief Executive Officer. “She will be so helpful in telling the Red Cross story not only in the Oklahoma City area but across Oklahoma, as well. We're excited to welcome her on board.”

McClellan lives in Norman with her husband Mark. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, going to music festivals, and camping in the mountains. She began her Red Cross career on June 21.

The Central and Southwest Oklahoma chapter is comprised of 17 counties including Oklahoma, Cleveland, McClain, Canadian, Grady, Caddo, Comanche, Cotton, Tillman, Kiowa, Washita, Custer, Roger Mills, Beckham, Greer, Harmon and Jackson.
