Right now it seems just about everyone in Lawton, Fort Sill is hiring. You can't throw a rock in town without hitting a "Help Wanted" sign. The pandemic created a lot of job loss and businesses were forced to close temporarily, some permanently and those who remained open had to reduce their services and occupancy. Things have finally started to improve and places are now opening back up, but need staff to fully return and operate at 100% Positions that were either lost or put on hold are now back and in need to personnel.

There are a lot of job opportunities in town, more so now than any other time I can remember. If you're currently on unemployment the state of Oklahoma will be ending the additional $300 a week Federal benefits on Saturday, June 26th (06-26-21). You'll still be eligible and can continue to receive the regular unemployment checks, but the additional $300 weekly benefits are going away in a few short weeks. The state will use Federal aid money to give $1,200 bonuses to those who find work and get off unemployment. It's limited and you have to qualify for it, but around 20,000 Oklahomans will receive the bonus for finding employment. Click here for the official press release.

So if you need a job or are thinking about a career change now would be the time to start looking. Stop by the Apache Casino Hotel today until 6:00pm and check out their job fair and hiring event. Time is running out, especially if you're on unemployment right now.  All the details and information can be found on the press release below:
