I don't know about you, but I really enjoy a homemade breakfast. I always keep it simple with eggs and a pork product. Sometimes it's bacon but I'm more of a sausage person. It's cheaper and easier to cook... when I have time.

Like some, I don't have ready-made things in my cupboard or fridge so my average fresh-made breakfast takes about half an hour to cook and eat. Sometimes when I'm running short on time in the mornings, due to one thing or another, I'll make up time by picking up breakfast on my way to work.

While I mostly detest everything on the menu at your average McD's, there will always be a soft spot for the humble McNugget and amazing Sausage Biscuit - add cheese... but while I was waiting to place my order this morning I noticed shenanigans on the menu.

If you ran through the drive-thru in a hurry craving a Sausage McMuffin, it would cost you $1.29+tax...

Tax included, it comes out to about $1.41 - depending on if McD's rounds up or down to the nearest dollar. Seems like a fair deal though, unless you want two of them...

The Sausage McMuffin is part of the 2 for $3 McValue breakfast menu... but if you order two McMuffins the price shouldn't be any more than $2.82-ish anyway.

It's a curious thing, don't you think?

I was going to hilariously ask about it when I reached the pay window, but McD's was so busy I couldn't bring myself to distract the crew of some of our most important and underappreciated essential workers. Well, that and it seemed like a real Karen-type thing. After all, the price shenanigans don't affect me anyway...

While I remain a Sausage Biscuit boy that'll likely never opt for the English muffin option, one does wonder if this is intentional or just a simple case of accidental stupidity. Heck, it could even be a McDonald's corporate thing, but as prices of menu items differ between franchises, it could just be an embarrassing local mistake. The only question left is, how long has this overcharging been happening?
