Brace Yourselves Oklahoma for ‘Joe vs. Carole’ the New Series on Peacock
It could very well be a sign of the end times, brace yourselves Oklahoma for 'Joe vs. Carole' the new series on Peacock. The new show will premiere on Peacock and will be available to stream next Thursday, March 3rd (03-03-22). It's a scripted drama, more like comedy that will re-tell the infamous 'Tiger King' story in all its redneck, cringe-worthy glory. Just when you thought we'd seen and heard the last of them...They're back!
'Joe vs. Carole' is based on the popular Wondery podcast 'Joe Exotic: Tiger King' hosted by Robert Moor. You can check it out and give it a listen by clicking here. Or just search Google for it, the podcast is available in various formats and on several different services. I'm not too sure if the podcast came first then the documentary. Most of us became familiar with Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin back in 2020 with 'Tiger King' on Netflix. It got some of us, more like most of us, through the first month or so of the COVID-19 pandemic.
It's one hell of a crazy story and became an instant hit on Netflix. People around the world were fascinated and glued to their TVs as this real-life train wreck of a story played out. Everyone was talking about it and if you're from Oklahoma I'm sure you've gotten more than your fair share of questions about it from those who don't live here. I know I did, as a matter of fact, I still do. The new series 'Joe vs. Carole' on peacock stars Kate McKinnon as Carole Baskin and John Cameron Mitchell as Joe Exotic. One thing's for sure the new show is going to be wild! Get a sneak peek of 'Joe vs. Carole.' Hit play on the official series trailer below:
It's been close to 2 years since the Nation, better yet the world was introduced to Joe Exotic and Carole Baskins. It'll be interesting to see if the new series will take off like 'Tiger KIng' did, or if people have lost interest. Just recently Joe Exotic was back in the news, he was resentenced to 21 years for his crimes.
Which is only 1 year shorter than his original sentence. He also revealed that he's suffering from stage-one prostate cancer. Carole Baskin in the meantime has been Dancing with the Stars, trying to sue Netflix over the 'Tiger King' season 2 all while avoiding questions about the mysterious disappearance of her late husband Don Lewis. So it looks like the story of Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin is far from over.
I have mixed feelings about the new show. Oklahoma was finally getting away from the 'Tiger King' stigma and all the insanity it created. It's pretty bad that for a lot of people the only thing they know about our state is 'Tiger King.' It's not the greatest representation of the Sooner State or its citizens that's for sure.
I couldn't tell you how many times I've been on vacation or traveled somewhere and when they find out I'm from Oklahoma the very first thing a lot of them say is "Oklahoma? Oh yeah, the Tiger King place, do you know Joe Exotic? You people from Oklahoma are f#@king crazy!" Here we go again, brace yourselves!
