It's Thursday, and today we turn our attentions to an unsigned/indy artist who grew up on a buffalo farm in Montana, whose introduction to country music was as a child, she would listen to the local country radio station while cleaning horse stalls on the farm.

Stephanie Quayle grew up on a working buffalo farm in Bozeman, MT. Early in life she began listening to the local AM country radio station, which fueled an interest in lyrics and crafting a song. She began playing piano at age 12, writing her first song the same year. By 15 she had purchased her first guitar at a local pawn shop, teaching herself to play guitar, and using the two instruments to put music to the journal entries and poetry detailing the journey of a teen-age girl.

At age 16, Quayle traveled to Switzerland, where she spent the next year as an exchange student. While abroad, Stephanie would join a swiss band as their lead singer and would wind up recording an album with the group. She would later describe this as the impetus that would change music from "a possibility" to "a must". Quayle would return to Montana to finish high school, but soon after graduation, she headed off to Los Angeles to pursue her dream.

In Los Angeles, Stephanie struggled to find an audience for her music. After knocking on too many doors and hearing too many doors, she packed her bags once again. But, unlike so many before her who headed home defeated, she headed to Nashville to find her audience. Once arriving in Nashville, she know almost right away she had found her home. She performed across the country with Jerrod Niemann, Jamie O'Neal and John Pardi, along with taking the stages of the Sundance Film Festival and the CMA Music Festival. But her big moment came in 2013, when a song she co-wrote with Matt McClure was recorded by Lee Brice. The song, "Drive Your Truck" would go on the win CMA and ACM Song of the Year awards.

Lately, Stephanie has been putting her efforts behind making her own music and memories. Her journey as a recording artist has just begun, recently being named to iHeartRadio, CMA and Macy's Rising Star lists. She is currently making the festival rounds, having recently performed at CMA Fest in Nashville, her current tour is taking her through the midwest and Florida, bringing her brand new single into our spotlight.
