Today we feature a young country duo who met in middle school and who began playing music together as an almost therapeutic quality.

Waterloo Revival's duo of Cody Cooper and George Biddle began playing music together in high school, but parted ways so the guys could head to college after graduation; Cody off to the University of North Texas in Denton, while George stayed in their hometown, Austin, to attend the University of Texas.

The pair would stay in touch as they entered the professional world after college, George becoming a commercial loan officer in Austin, Cody, a mortgage officer in Dallas. The pair would play together on Cody's trips home. Eventually, George would convince Cody to move back to Austin to concentrate on music full time. The pair would take their name from the original name of their home town of Austin, TX.

The duo would spend the next year traveling back-and-forth between Texas and Nashville, spending time honing their craft as both performers and songwriters. During this time a chance connection led to a meeting with Toby Keith’s manager, TK Kimbrell, who promptly signed the boys to TKO Artist Management after hearing one of their first songs, “Hit the Road.” They then made the big commitment, moving to Nashville full-time, beginning to acquaint themselves with Music Row. They soon caught the ear of Big Machine Records President and CEO Scott Borchetta, inking a deal with Big Machine a week later.

George and Cody are in the studio working on a forthcoming debut album. The second single from the project is in our spotlight today. Waterloo Revival and "Bad For You" is today's Catch of the Day, new music you haven't heard, but you'll want to hear it again.
