Today's catch of the day comes from a young singer/songwriter from Mississippi whose stock is definitely on the rise.

Hailing from Vicksburg, MS, William Michael Morgan is the quintessential classic country singer. With a booming voice and traditional qualities, many listeners a reminded of Tracy Lawrence and Keith Whitley (who, as coincidence may have it, you can find him covering on his youtube channel). Blessed with a stage presence well beyond his years, Morgan is much more than a cover artist, as his recent publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music attests to.

A young artist with an old soul, Morgan began playing in bands with much older musicians by the 9th grade, covering Merle Haggard, Keith Whitley and George Jones. Trips to Nashville began at age 16 to work on his song-writing, while also performing on the Louisiana Hay Ride. He moved to Music City as soon as he turned 18, signing his first record and publishing deals at age 19.

The tall, easy-going, 22-year-old has the look you’d hope for in a young entertainer with the stature to wear a black cowboy hat. And he’s certainly got the chops as an award-winning performer; but when it comes to the final test, its all in that voice.

Currently signed to Warner Brothers Nashville, Morgan is currently in the studio with Warner Brother Executive Vice President Scott Hendricks working on his debut album. The first single from that project is in our spotlight today. William Michael Morgan and "I Met A Girl" is our Catch of the Day, new music you haven't heard, but you'll want to hear it again.
