Classic Country Saturday It’s All In The Steel
The Pedal Steel Guitar. One of the mainstay instruments of country music. The vast majority of the 'early' country songs used this instrument. Many of the current roster of artists have it available to them and have musicians that can play it along with other guitars.
When you see the singers and groups that have a steel guitar, take note of the person playing the instrument. They are usually some what older than the rest. Many have been on this since they were very young. It is one instrument that requires many hours of practice and dedication in order to make it sound great.
There are so many Classic Country songs that have the steel as the lead instrument or has a prominent part in the song which may include a solo in the song. This morning we will get deep into some ballads, and hard driving songs which will bring the steel to the front of the stage into the spotlight.
I have included one of my all time favorite steel guitar songs from a couple of guys who have been cranking great music out for over 25 years.
