This morning we are celebrating the Queens of country music. There are several that come to mind but three stand out from the rest. In our first hour, we will have Tammy Wynette in the spot light. She was one of country music's best-known artists and biggest-selling female singers. Definitely a country music icon. Tammy was also referred to as the 'First Lady of Country Music', and her best-known song, 'Stand by Your Man', was one of the best-selling hit singles by a woman in the history of country music.

Hour number two is Loretta Lynn. She is a chart toppin gold album selling artist who is still at work, on tour this year. Her work has spanned more than 50 years. She has received numerous awards and other accolades for her groundbreaking role in country music. Her signature song is 'Coal Miner's Daughter' based on her life was autobiography turned movie which won an Academy Award.

Our last hour brings Winchester Virginia native Patsy Cline to the stage. Although her life was tragically cut short, her songs are as powerful now as they were when she recorded them. Proof is many artists still cover songs such as 'Sweet Dreams' 'Crazy' and 'I Fall To Pieces' on a regular basis.

Hope you enjoy the Queens of Country today. Next week we will look at the top songs of 1975. Have a great weekend!
