Garden centers are now filled with plants, and the last freeze may finally be behind for portions of Oklahoma, so it might be time to get ready to plant! And just in time for planting, the Elgin FFA is planning to host its annual plant fundraiser on Saturday, April 4.

Even though you can purchase plants at just about every major store, it's also an easy way to support local FFA chapters. Whether you're looking for hanging plants or ones to put in your garden, Elgin's FFA plant sale will have it!

Elgin FFA's plant sale will take place Saturday, April 4.

Easter weekend will be the perfect time to get your plants! The Elgin FFA will host its plant sale fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 4 at the chapter's greenhouse, located at 13270 NE Kenney Road in Elgin.

In a Facebook post announcing the sale, the Elgin FFA included various photos of plants that will be available for purchase. And it looks like they'll have some beautiful hanging plants and flowers and greenery for planting!

The Elgin FFA have not posted a price list yet, but follow the chapter's official Facebook page for updates.

Oklahoma's Beneficial Insects

Not all insects are pests! There are some insects that are beneficial to you and your garden. In a study by the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service on beneficial insects, "most insects found in yards, gardens or crops do not feed on or harm plants. Many are just 'passing through' or have very innocuous habits. Others feed on and destroy pest species. In many cases, the activities of these beneficial species can prevent or greatly limit pest problems."
