And the season get underway this Sunday with the Daytona 500 and the top two starting spots have been claimed.
Carl Edwards will start on the pole this Sunday for the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway. Edwards claimed the pole position with a lap at a blistering 194.738 mph. Edwards outran Greg Biffle for the top spot in Sunday's Daytona 500 qualifying session, as the Roush Fenway Racing teammates locked themselves into the front row for this Sunday's Daytona 500.
The rest of the field for the 54th running of the Great American Race will not be set during Thursday's Gatorade Duals at the Daytona International Speedway. Starting positions 3 through 39 are finalized by how the remaining drivers finish in the Gatorade Duels. The wait is over and NASCAR starts this Sunday at Noon.
