The Old Plantation was built in 1910 and has been an Oklahoma destination ever since. This historic 3-story building has seen a lot in its 100-plus years. It started off as a pavilion and then was transformed into an enclosed single-floor structure. Eventually, it was built up and the second and third floors were added.

Back in the 1920s, it was a favorite hang-out and even hide-out for the famous and the infamous. It wasn't uncommon to see celebrities, politicians, and even notorious gangsters like Al Capone and Machine Gun Kelly at the Old Plantation. It was definitely a very popular place, especially during prohibition. It's said part of the Old Plantation served as an illegal speakeasy (bar) and dancehall. This place has some history!

The Old Plantation is located at 143 East Lake Drive in Medicine Park, OK.

Even in the early 1900s it was a popular place for outlaws and gunfighters to visit and hide out. In those days saloons, brothels, and illegal gambling were prevalent including in Medicine Park at the Old Plantation. Needless to say with all that history and nefarious activity more than a few people met their end and tragically died there. From what it sounds like some of them never left and remain to haunt the grounds.

So what are some of the stories and creepy tales people have told about this haunted restaurant? There have been reports of objects moving, even being thrown by unseen hands. Lights and electrical appliances have been seen turning on and off all by themselves. Shadow figures, orbs, and even full-body apparitions have also been seen. People have also reported being touched, even pushed by invisible forces. Some have also talked about the uneasy, creepy feeling they get while inside the restaurant and the unexplained rapid temperature changes they experienced. This place runs the full gamut when it comes to paranormal activity!

Both guests and paranormal investigators have reported seeing the ghost of a little girl who likes to hang out on the second floor. There's also a woman whose ghost is seen wanding the second and first floors as well. Some people have told stories about a male ghost they encountered who looks just like Henery Andrew "Heck" Thomas the famous lawman who brought down the Doolin-Dalton gang. FUN FACT: Heck Thomas was the very first police chief of Lawton, OK. from 1902 until 1909. He passed in 1912 and is buried in the Highland Cemetary in Lawton. Some say his ghost is still hunting down outlaws at the Old Plantation.
