The 18th annual Arts Alive! Home and Garden Festival is this weekend at the Ray Clymer Exhibit Hall at the MPEC.  The big focus this year is the changing garden; with water restrictions and changes in what and how we plant, grow and cultivate, everyone is on the hunt for new ideas.

Expect lots of discussions, demos and tips on things like water harvesting-capturing the rain water for later use.  Vendors from nearly every ‘garden’ related or complimentary industry will be there and of course, there will be lots of opportunities to win prizes as well.

New to this year’s event is a mobile app that will let you download offers from many, if not all, of the 150 + vendors.  The show is open Saturday 9 am to 6 pm and Sunday 11 am to 5 pm.  Tickets are $5 in advance, $7 at the door and $5 for active duty military.  Tickets are available at all United Supermarket locations, Builders Wholesale and from a variety of local organizations that will directly benefit from the sale of tickets.  More info is available by clicking here.

News Talk 1290 will bring its Saturday morning news and info show “Texoma Weekend” to the event for a live, on-site broadcast from 10 am to 11 am Saturday.  Drop by and meet Mike Hendren, Trey Sralla and Ernie McConnell.  All of the Townsquare Media-Wichita Falls stations will be there and we’re giving you the chance to sign up to win a new grill and accessories from Haye’s General Store in Burkburnett.
