Cowboy True Returns to The Bridwell

In 2012, Dan Shores had a vision: a first-class art exhibit dedicated to the working cowboy.  After all, Wichita Falls had lots of arts-related events going on, but none that showcased the truly remarkable artwork created to honor the working cowboy.  Dan, himself an accomplished artist, knew this was void that could no longer be ignored.

Dan got together with The Kemp Center for the Arts and The Kemp at The Forum, and through the hard work and dedication of people like Dan, Carol Sales, Jana Schmader, Gary Kingcade and numerous committee members and volunteers, the first Cowboy True Art Exhibit and Auction was born.

Now in its third year, Cowboy True promises to be bigger, better and will absolutely stay true to it's stated purpose-honoring the life of the working cowboy through the incredible art that 50 featured artists have created.  It's all on display this Friday and Saturday at the J S Bridwell Ag Center.  This year's event features 20 auction items (proceeds benefit the Kemp at the Forum), a youth fiddling contest, live music and of course the fantastic steak dinner on Saturday night and much, much more.  You will not be disappointed.

The event opens Friday, March 28 at 6:00 pm for the artists reception and the exhibit is free to the public on Saturday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.  Tickets for the Saturday night dinner and auction are limited and going fast.  Click here to make reservations now.
