It's that time of year when we all go a little crazy for cookies.   If you're out and about and get a craving, the "Cookie Locator" app for iPhone and Android helps locate the closest cookie sale to you.

You can also sign up to receive an alert when there is a sale in your area!

This year the boxes have undergone a makeover but don't worry, the cookies still taste as delicious as ever.  The new box design is to help the Girl Scouts of America celebrate their 100th year!

Each year around three million girls sell 200 million boxes of cookies!  The current record is 17,328 boxes in a single year by a single Girl Scout, Jennifer Sharpe of Dearborn, Michigan.  She was 15 when she set the record in 2009.

The most popular cookies are Thin Mints (25%), Samoas/Caramel deLites (19%), Peanut Butter Patties/Tagalongs (13%), Peanut Butter Sandwich/Do-si-dos (11%), Shortbread/Trefoils (9%) then all the rest.  The naming of the cookie depends on which bakery it came from.  Cookies are baked by two licensed bakeries.

I buy several boxes of the Caramel deLites for me and the Peanut Butter Sandwich (Do-si-dos) for David.  Last year I bought Tagalongs instead of Do-si-dos for David.  I was scrambling trying to find the right cookies and now have a freezer full of Tagalongs.

What is your favorite Girl Scout cookie?
