Blue & Gold Season Is Almost Back In Oklahoma

Here we are, rolling through the scorching hot end of July, gearing up for Back to School, and I have only one random question for you...

Are you ready for your local Blue & Gold fundraiser to come back?

Of course you are. We all are. It has been months since the last B&G orders were fulfilled in most Oklahoma towns, and odds are your little stash is either gone or running on fumes.

B&G has expanded the brand over the last few years. The chicken is delicious. I think it's fair to say that the bacon tastes like bacon. But the sausage is where it's at. It's just so unique in the herb concoction they use to make it.

It never fails to hit the spot on a Saturday morning. Takes me back to Grandma's house during a big holiday, when there are way more people than beds in the house, so all the cousins have to camp out on the living room floor. There were twelve of us every Christmas, and waking up to the smell of that sausage is a goated, s-tier memory.

Can't You Get B&G Year Round?

Yeah, sort of.

During the school year, the only outlet you have is the local kids of your own community. It has been and will most likely always be a school fundraising program, but during the summer months - specifically June and July - when no school fundraisers are going on, you can walk into the Blue & Gold store in Jones, OK, and buy what you need.

I generally buy the sausage by the case, so I'm very rarely ever without unless I blow my stash on the work chili competition. My own B&G-based chili is batting .900 in that contest. Only took one loss in the last decade because my soft-handed coworkers can't take the heat I poured into it that year.

Fair is fair, it was really hot.

With schools starting up next week and through the month of August, it won't be long until the Blue & Gold sales start.
