There are many things that contribute to a person's overall life expectancy like health, lifestyle, occupation, diet, genetics, and bad habits. But did you know where you live could also determine you're life expectancy?

A recent study that NiceRX.com conducted revealed the average life expectancy for each state. It ranks them from 1 to 50 or best to worst. According to the report Hawaii, Washington, and Minnesota are the top 3.

Those 3 states have the longest life expectancy in the U.S. So where is Oklahoma in all of this? Unfortunately, the Sooner State was ranked at #43 which is in the bottom 10 of the list. Our avenge life span is 74.1 years.

Another interesting finding from the study found that the average lifespan between women and men has widened as well. According to NiceRX.com men have an average lifespan of 73.5 years compared to women at 79.3 years. It seems the gap between men's and women's life expectancy keeps widening year after year.

Whereas states in the south and midwest had the lowest. A lot of different factors within the region help determine the results.

Still with an average life span of 74.1 in Oklahoma that isn't terrible, at least when compared to Mississippi anyway. So just like diet, exercise, lifestyle, genetics, and other health factors, where you live also helps determine just how long you'll live. At least your average lifespan anyway. Maybe I'll retire in Hawaii.

If you're looking for someplace to move, retire or visit and are worried about crime, these are the safest places. They have some of the lowest crime rates in the state, some have the lowest in the Nation according to FBI crime statistics. Most of the cities and towns that made the top 10 safest places year are located in the southwest central portion of the state. One town made it to the top of the list at #1 for its 5th or 6th time.
