New Attractions Coming To The 2025 Oklahoma State Fair
It may not seem like it, but we're gearing up for a very full and very fun fair season here in Oklahoma. Not only are there multiple fall free fairs, county fairs and local celebrations like the Comanche Nation Fair coming up, but two of the largest fairs in the state are almost here.
This year's Oklahoma State Fair is happening September 11 - 21 in Oklahoma City. There are quite a few changes that have come this year, including new things being added to the attraction list.
Looking at the list of events, contests and unique shows that the Oklahoma State Fair committee has put together, they're really striving to live up to this year's theme: Eat. Ride. Repeat.
Out with the old and in with the new at the OKC Fairgrounds.
There have been a few major changes at the Oklahoma City Fairgrounds. Just recently, many of the main attractions like concerts, PBR events and more have been moved to the new OG&E Coliseum.
The Coliseum replaces the historic Jim Norick arena, which is now officially closed and being demolished, now with the roof having been imploded on the morning of Tuesday, August 12.
The new building isn't the only change we can expect at this year's fair. According to the Oklahoma State Fair newsletter, there are an array of new shows and interesting contests for everyone to participate.
It seems like they really wanted to include more animal-related attractions at this year's fair. Not only will they have a free circus for all ages, a stunt dog show, stock dog trials, a Moving Mermaid on land, but they've added some contests we definitely haven't seen before.
You may have heard of chicken-poop bingo, but have you heard of a Rooster crowing contest?
That's just one of the weird things they're having this year, including a dairy goat costume contest, too.
For the folks who've got a talent for cooking, they're introducing the Shawn Mills Brownie Baking contest.
Speaking of talents, they're making an effort to highlight talents with the Kindness for Kids, Project Linus Contest and the Caps For Curbside arts contest that both aim to have donatable items when contestants finish.
Lastly, this year's fair will include some special moments for special people, including the Heroes Grand Parade, Salute To Heroes and an Accessibility Expo.
