Snow Squall Sweeps Through Texas Town in Amazing Timelapse
Early yesterday afternoon, the small town of Vega, Texas, found itself at the mercy of a fast-moving snow squall that swept through areas just north of Amarillo.

A cool timelapse video, which you can watch by scrolling to the end of this article, shows how quickly the snow took over, covering everything in just minutes with swirling snow and freezing winds.
Sudden Blast of Snow
Even though snow in the Texas Panhandle isn't super rare, storms like this that come so fast and strong don't happen often. Weather experts say these storms form when really cold air from the north meets warmer air from the south, creating a sudden blast of snow and strong winds.
Drivers Be Careful
Officials have warned drivers to be careful because roads can get slippery and hard to see very quickly. The snow can make it almost impossible to see where you're going.
