Unconstitutional

Houston, Texas has an ordinance that requires groups to get permission from property owners to feed more than five people, even on public property. The ordinance was passed in 2012, but as of July 28, 2023, courts ruled it unconstitutional.

Not Guilty

The folks at Food Not Bombs have decided they're just going to keep feeding the homeless so they've been racking up some tickets. Since they're racking up tickets, they keep finding themselves in court, where the jurors are either finding them not guilty, or the arresting officer isn't showing up, possibly due to knowing deep down that it's the right thing to do.

Time to Change the Laws

Feeding people should not be a crime, period. I mean, what are we doing here? It's public property. Here's some hope. Recently, a U.S. District Court judge ordered Houston to stop ticketing Food Not Bombs for feeding the homeless.

Check out the video below:

@jddelay5150 @Food Not Bombs Houston is out here fighting to help the unhomed in their community, and all the police are doing is writing them tickets and trying to shut them down.
