If you like to play disc golf, apparently Lawton is not the place for you.

August 3rd is National Disc Golf Day!

Well if you're someone that loves an afternoon playing disc golf, then this Saturday is day to celebrate. We have several disc golf courses surrounding us, but according to a new survey from Lawnstarter. They have named the best disc golf cities in America.

Top Ten Best Disc Golf Courses in America

  1. Austin, TX
  2. Portland, OR
  3. Charlotte, NC
  4. Denver, CO
  5. Minneapolis, MN
  6. St. Paul, MN
  7. Lakewood, CO
  8. Houston, TX
  9. Arvada, CO
  10. Beaverton, OR

As you can see, two Texas cities made the cut for being the best in the country. Including the number one overall ranking for Austin. Unfortunately, Lawton was just named the absolute bottom of the barrel city for disc golf in America.

  1. Lawton, OK
  2. Homestead, FL
  3. San Angelo, TX
  4. Brownsville, TX
  5. Lake Charles, LA
  6. Suffolk, VA
  7. Laredo, TX
  8. Champaign, IL
  9. St. Joseph, MO
  10. Midland, TX

Lawton was given an overall score of 16.39, making it the worst city to play in the country. You can check out a full breakdown of how they came to that score on Lawnstarter, be prepared to scroll awhile because Lawton came in at 500 out of 500 total cities.

Fun Course in Texas? Z Boaz in Fort Worth

Lawnstarter at the bottom of their post also gives some recommendations for fun courses and Z Boaz in Fort Worth took their favorite Texas spot. They said, "Elevation changes and an abundance of natural hazards like a creek and trees challenge even seasoned players, requiring every shot in your arsenal."
