Wynonna Judd’s Daughter, Grace Kelley, Charged With Soliciting Prostitution After Alabama Arrest
Wynonna Judd's daughter, Grace Kelley, is facing charges of soliciting prostitution after police in Alabama arrested her on April 5.
Kelley, 27, originally faced charges of indecent exposure and obstructing government operations after she allegedly exposed her breasts and the lower part of her body at the intersection of Interstate 65 and Highway 14 in Millbrook, Ala.
According to charges available online, Kelley now faces an additional charge of soliciting prostitution, as People reports.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Millbrook Police Chief P.K. Johnson says Kelley was holding up a sign that read, "Ride for a Ride" while flashing motorists at the busy intersection. Authorities responded to two separate calls regarding Kelley. The first came after she created a disturbance near some local businesses, and she argued with police who responded.
"... She argued with them about the legality of what she was doing. And that it was not illegal for her to offer herself in exchange for rides," Johnson tells the Daily Mail.
Shortly after police told Kelley to move on, they responded to a second call after she reportedly created a disturbance at a Circle K nearby.
"She was argumentative and refused to cooperate in any way with officers who attempted to ID her and find out if there were any outstanding warrants," Johnson relates.
"She was belligerent and argumentative," he adds, and officers made the decision to place her under arrest "based on what they had dealt with in both contacts."
She was initially charged with obstructing governmental operations based on her refusing to comply with authorities, as well as indecent exposure for her state of undress, Johnson states. The charge of soliciting prostitution was added later. Johnson says he expects that charge to raise her bond from $2,000 to $3,000. All three charges are misdemeanors.
Grace Pauline Kelley is Judd's daughter with her first husband, Arch Kelley III. She has a long history of legal trouble that stems back to 2015, when police in Nashville arrested her and charged her with manufacturing meth, Fox News reports.
She was sentenced to eight years in prison in 2018 after violating parole, according to Fox News. She gave birth to a daughter named Kaliyah Chanel during a temporary leave of absence from jail in March of 2022.
People reports that Kelley's next court date is set for April 25.
