In 1985, the Topps Company released their hit card/sticker line Garbage Pail Kids, the evil twin, parody of Cabbage Patch Kids.

With names like Adam Bomb, Messy Tessy, Fryin' Brian, Bad Breath Seth, and many more.

GPKs were an immediate hit with kids everywhere and were an immediate concern for parents.

Garbage Pail Kids Eventually caused such a ruckus many schools in the U.S. banned them, and in one case an entire country banned GPKs.

The popularity of Garbage Pail Kids wasn't phased by the controversy and even parlayed into a feature-length film,  The Garbage Pail Kids Movie, and an animated TV series.

By the way, if you didn't know, The Garbage Pail Kids Movie has actually been released on Blu-ray.

If you haven't kept up with the garbage gang, you'll be happy to know Garbage Pail Kids are still going strong. In April 2020, the "35th Anniversary Series" was released in the form of digital collectible Garbage Pail Kids cards.
