Jason Aldean’s ‘Rearview Town’ Tops Billboard’s 200 All-Genre Chart
Jason Aldean continues his reign atop both country and all-genre charts. His eighth studio album, Rearview Town (April 13), has landed in the No. 1 position on Billboard's all-genre Top 200 Album chart — it's Aldean's fourth consecutive time to earn the peak chart position.
Aldean is only the second country act in history to score four consecutive No. 1 albums on the Top 200 chart, perBillboard. He follows in the footsteps of hit country trio Rascal Flatts, who claimed four No. 1 releases in a row between 2004 and 2009.

Aldean's project is the first country album of 2018 to ascend to the top spot of Billboard's all-genre chart. The three-time ACM Entertainer of the Year has the first country album at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 this year — Rearview Town is the first country album to climb to No. 1 since Luke Bryan’s What Makes You Country topped the chart on Dec. 30, 2017.
In addition, Rearview Town has made the biggest country debut of 2018 in terms of sales, amassing 183,000 in album unites sold just in its first week of release. In an interview with Taste of Country, the singer says when getting into the studio for his eighth project, he focused on what he likes most, instead of other people's opinions.
"I don't know what people are gonna like. What I do know is what I like, and I know if I can record an album that I think is cool, that I enjoy, I hope my fans are gonna like it too," Aldean says. "That's how I've gotten to this point — making music that I thought was cool and they've become fans of it. Obviously you want them to like it, but you can't make it [music] to please someone else."
