Kacey Musgraves Is Headed to ‘Saturday Night Live’
Kacey Musgraves has pulled off one of the biggest pop culture scores that any musician can book. The country singer-songwriter has landed a spot as the musical guest on an upcoming episode of Saturday Night Live.
Musgraves revealed the big news via Instagram on Wednesday (April 18), posting a picture of a bulletin board with upcoming hosts and guests pinned under certain dates. She is slated to be the musical guest on May 12, with former SNL cast member Amy Schumer set to host that week.
Musgraves is joining a very exclusive group of country stars who have appeared on Saturday Night Live over the decades, including Blake Shelton, Taylor Swift, Lucinda Williams, Dixie Chicks, Johnny Cash, Keith Urban, Tim McGraw, Dwight Yoakam, Carrie Underwood, Dolly Parton, Chris Stapleton and Maren Morris.
The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter recently released a new album, Golden Hour, which was inspired in part by her marriage to musician Ruston Kelly. She has released a single, "Space Cowboy," from the album, revealing a new side to her musical output. She will hit the road with former One Direction singer Harry Styles on his Live on Tour road show beginning in June, and she will also headline her own Oh, What a World Tour beginning in October in Amsterdam. That tour will visit England, Scotland and Ireland before wrapping in November.
