Kane Brown's drummer, Kenny Dixon, was likely speeding when his car left the highway and crashed on Saturday morning.

New details released by the Tennessee Highway Patrol and gathered by the Tennessean indicate that Dixon's car was moving at a high rate of speed on I-24 in Christiana, Tenn., when the crash occurred at 12:45AM on Oct. 12. His 2016 Kia Rio left the highway and traveled for about 100 yards before striking a tree head-on.

Dixon was the only person inside the car and no other vehicles were involved.

Neither drugs nor alcohol are thought to be a factor in the crash, Tennessee Highway Patrol reports. As previously reported, Dixon was treated at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he died from his injuries. Christiana is a rural town southeast of Nashville. The accident happened at mile marker 88, about 40 miles outside of Nashville.

The 27-year-old's fiancee shared the news on Instagram several hours later:

It's not clear where Dixon was headed, but like Brown, he's from northern Georgia. Fans, friends and fellow musicians took to social media to salute the drummer after his death. The superstar also wrote about his irreplaceable talent and charm — the pair had been together since 2015, just as Brown was rising to fame.

"Love you so much dude!!!" Brown wrote on Instagram to accompany a black-and-white picture. "You started all of this with me from the start in 2015 when nobody else believed we would make it out of Chattanooga playing for 500 people and your last show was in a Fn Stadium my guy. I know u will be watching over us with that redneck accent that we all love and you will never be replaced bro!!! I promise u that!"

Most recently, Brown and his band were on tour with Jason Aldean. His next scheduled show is on Oct. 18 in Los Angeles. According to the Ponders Funeral Home, Dixon's funeral is set for Sunday (Oct. 20).
