Big Discounts At CashSaver As It Prepares To Close
Lawton's CashSaver location's last day of operation will be Friday, May 15. The store currently has items discounted from 25 to 40 percent off.
In March, Homeland announced that Lawton's CashSaver would close. The Oklahoma-based grocery store franchised made the announcement as part of its closing and consolidating stores across the state.
Lawton residents can get discounted items at CashSaver through May 15.
I often stop by CashSaver on way to and from work. Its always been an easy store to go in and out of, and it's conveniently located between my house and the station. I know a lot of people who live in the downtown area are sad to see CashSaver go as it was the closest and easiest store for them to access as well.
One of our colleagues stopped in there last week after work and said that items were marked down from 25 to 40 percent off. Grocery items, like canned goods, baking items and some produce, like potatoes and onions, were marked down 25 percent. Items that were 40 percent off appeared to be kitchen items, like utensils and bake ware.
Our colleague asked their checkout clerk when the store would be closing, and they said May 15. However, the clerk was unsure as to whether or not items would be discounted more than they already are before the last opening day.
Lawton's two Homeland locations will remain open.
CashSaver is the only Homeland-owned grocery store in Lawton that is set to close this month. Lawton's two other Homeland locations on the east and west sides of town will remain open.
As part of its closures and consolidations, Homeland will be closing locations in Edmond and Norman. When the closures were announced, each would remain open 45 days after the announcement, therefore the Homeland stores up for closure in Edmond and Norman will probably close this month as well.
Thank you for all the stops between home and work, CashSaver! You'll definitely be missed by this Lawton resident and plenty more.
